National Day of Prayer observance was held at the city mini-park on May 7, 2009. Several area pastors, businessmen and civic leaders spoke and offered prayers. Our church sponsors the NDP annually.

Sis. Molly Stroud and Sis. Lula Harbison both celebrated their 101 birthdays on Friday, October 17, 2009 at the Hillview Living Center in Dresden. Sis. Molly is the mother of Sis. Brooksie Taylor and the grandmother of Sis. Sheila Rice. Sis. Lula is the mother of Bro. Troy Harbison. She is holding the one month old granddaughter of Bro. Troy and Sis. Bernice Harbison.
